The Buffs Are Bowling for the Crimson Tide: SUN 30 Dec 2007, 5:00 PM
CU is bowl bound after a much improved 6-6 season! CU will be playing in their first Independence Bowl against the Alabama Crimson Tide (6-6)!
The Buffs finished their Big XII season with the highest combined score in CU-NU game history with a 65-51 win over Nebraska (5-7) on 23 Nov 2007. CU’s win coupled with the Kansas State (5-7) loss the following day against Fresno State, sealed a bowl birth for the Buffs this season.
The Big XII finished strong this year, sending two teams to BCS games: #4 Oklahoma (11-2) against #9 West Virginia (10-2) (Fiesta Bowl) and #8 Kansas (11-1) against #3 Virginia Tech (11-2) (Orange Bowl), but left Big XII North Division Champions, #6 Missouri (11-2), out with in invite to the Cotton Bowl against Arkansas (8-4). Rounding out the Big XII top 25 is #19 Texas with a Holiday Bowl birth against #11 Arizona State (10-2). Overall, the Big XII Conference is sending 8 teams to bowl games this year.
