Well the Buffs (5-5, 3-3) had a great start against Missouri (8-1, 4-1) last weekend with two forced turnovers and a 10-7 lead, but Mizzou went on to outscore the Buffaloes 55-10 in CU’s worst loss of the year.
Both CU and Kansas State (5-4, 3-3) are mathematically out of the Big XII North Division Championship Title chase [along with Nebraska (4-6, 1-5) and Iowa State (2-8, 1-5)]. The battle for the North is left between undefeated Kansas (9-0, 5-0) and one-loss Missouri who will play each other on a “neutral field” in Kansas City on 24 Nov 2007. Both teams have three games left and one of the two teams will play at the Big XII Championship Game on 1 Dec 2007 in San Antonio, TX.
CU is now playing for bowl eligibility with two games left in the regular season. The Buffs just need one more win to quality for a bowl!!! The good news is that CU’s last three weeks of the regular season have two very winnable games and a bye week on their schedule. But these last three weeks cannot be taken for granted.
Although Iowa State has only won two games this year, they have quickly improved as the season has progressed with a win over Kansas State last week 31-20. CU cannot look ahead to the Nebraska game and overlook this “sandwich” game against Iowa State this weekend in Ames, IA.
This weeks game is being televised on Saturday 10 Nov 2007 by Fox College Sports via Comcast Special Broadcast at 9:30 AM (pacific standard time). As of today (Tuesday 6 Nov 07) this game will only be available via Comcast and not on Direct TV or Dish Network (although this may change by weeks end). The game will be shown on the big screen at Bayside Sports Bar:
Where: Bayside Sports Bar: 1787 Union St., San Francisco, CA 94123 (415) 673-1565 (map)
When: Saturday 10 Nov 2007, 9:30 AM (pacific standard time)
GO BUFFS!!!
