First, we want to thank everyone who has been coming out to the watch parties this season. With your help we raised $285 during the September 28th Oregon State watch party which Tupelo is donating to the flood relief efforts. We’re excited to be partnering with a bar as dedicated to the community as we are.
Let’s not stop the efforts there! Join us for the first annual NorCal Buffs Poker Run fundraiser this Saturday in North Beach. Check in is at Amante at 3:30 pm and we’ll wrap up at Tupelo just in time to watch the Buffs take on the ASU Sun Devils in Tempe. Our regular watch party will take place at Tupelo immediately after the Poker Run with kickoff at 7:00 pm Pacific.
Friends, family, and that new friend you made on the bus over to North Beach are all welcome — the more the merrier! Plus, proceeds benefit CU-Boulder’s flood relief fund and our chapter’s scholarship fund so you’ll be having fun while supporting two great causes. Wristbands are $10 and available here. Get them early to avoid waiting in line.
We have goodies for all participants (while supplies last), but a few lucky winners will be taking home the big prizes. In no particular order, we have:
- a 3 or 4 night stay in Hawaii
- wine tour to Napa
- headphones from Beats by Dre
- excellent hot sauces from Dave’s Gourmet
- Gift Certificate for a 50-minute signature organic massage at the Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe
- a year’s supply of Peet’s coffee
- a PS3 with at least 3 games
- basketball package to see the Buffs when they come to the Bay Area this spring
- Liftopia prize pack with a $50 gift card and a few of the essentials
We are still looking for a few volunteers for this event so if you’re interested please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org.

Next Watch Party:

12:00 pm Pacific
1337 Grant Ave.
San Francisco, CA 94133
Pac-12 play starts this weekend and we’re excited to watch the Buffs take on the Oregon State Beavers at 12pm Pacific on Saturday! There are a few great reasons to come out to Tupelo this weekend:
- Tupelo is donating $1 from every pint of Blue Moon, shot of Fireball, or shot of Fernet purchased during the watch party to the victims of the recent floods. There will also be a donation box available if anyone prefers to donate cash.
- The Buffs are 2-0 under Coach MacIntyre.
- It’s been almost 3 weeks since our last watch party. We miss you.
Also, don’t forget to buy your wristband for the first annual NorCal Buffs Poker Run on Saturday, October 12th! The time will be officially announced as soon as the game time is released. Proceeds from this fundraiser will be split between the chapter’s scholarship fund and a donation to the CU Flood Relief Fund assisting students, faculty, and staff affected by the recent floods. More information on the fund here: CU-Boulder Disaster Recovery Fund.
Finally, we have a lot of great prizes lined up for this event (a condo stay in Hawaii, wine tour for two to Napa, a basketball package when the Buffs come to the Bay, etc), but are looking for a few more. If you or your company is interested in contributing to this event, please contact Kayleigh Lloyd at email@example.com.
Thank you everyone who came out to Tupelo for the Rocky Mountain Showdown last weekend – it was a great turnout and an excellent win for Coach MacIntyre and the Buffs! Also, we are thrilled to share that Tupelo has invested in the PAC-12 network and is now offering drink specials during our games ($3 Coors Light or $8 for a Blue Moon and Fernet combo).
